I believe it is either something that is broken in the cygwin installation in general (unlikely), or in your installation specifically. If someone else could run the above tests on Cygwin as well, that might shed some light on things, or maybe you could try getting a clean installation of cygwin to try things on?

newbie question installation of packages for RPM
My question is about installation. The advertisements I have seen show outlets in the side of the inverter to plug in AC appliances. It would be much more convenient to have the inverter installed somewhere out of the way and be able to use the shore power outlets that are already spread around the boat.

I'm about to take the plunge and try to install Red Hat 7.3 from a CD. So, I assume (I have no manuals) that I first place the CD in the computer, and then reboot, hoping this will bring me to the installation set-up. One of the first questions during the configuration is swap space, this is where a "mini-root" vill be copied to, and then booted from. You vill be asked to insert 2.5.1 (11/97) os 2.6 (5/98). Then the machine will reboot from the swap space, and after another few question installation will start.

So the gpg package conflicts with it: no big surprise.
